Rose Cottage is the oldest remaining cottage in Rydal c1860, and has
been lovingly restored. The lounge area used to be the scullery long
ago. The Cottage is fully self contained and has a lounge with log
fire, bedroom and light-filled bathroom with heated floors. It has
been decorated in a calm French country style.
There is a mini bar with non alcoholic beverages, spring water and selected treats at a nominal fee. A wonderful Continental BREAKFAST is served to your cottage when required as part of your package.
Babies in cots are most welcome. There is ample room to accommodate.
A Gourmet dinner can be provided with
adequate notice given.
The garden is yours to wander in or to just sit quietly. There is ample bird life and the garden is filled with Roses and English perennials in Spring/Summer.
It has been open to the public for several years. You could enjoy an early morning walk with the birds in the cooler months, or snuggle by the fire and read one of the selected books or magazines. Perhaps a DVD or a trip to many of the wonderful cafes in the district for a warming treat. Perhaps a deep bath full of bubbles!!
There is a light filled studio/garden room for those who like to paint. All you need is your paper/brushes, favourite colours and a little inspiration.
Rydal has a wonderful festival in
Spring. "Daffodils at Rydal." A renowned Art School also operates in
Spring and Autumn by a well know artist in Sydney.
There are walks close by, and Kangaroos visit often in the evenings. Sunsets are a treat, and the morning sun rises into Rose Cottage. You will find many touches at Rose Cottage that say "Welcome".
The food wine regions of Bathurst/Orange and Mudgee are a short drive away. The mid Blue Mountains is also only a 30 minute drive.
The XPT arrives and departs daily to Rydal, and Rose Cottage is a short stroll from the station.
Only Peace awaits at Rose Cottage!!
